The worst is also by Yaesu for their FTM-3200DR Fusion transceiver. ![]() The Yaesu manual that comes with FT-8900R is, by far, the second worst laid out user manual I’ve ever seen for an amateur radio. It can be modified to operate everywhere but the Air band, but only in FM mode. It rarely happened, but we could change to another pair of frequencies if we ran into interference or areas where one of the frequencies was in use. She would operate on one band, and I would operate on the another. This came in handy when traveling in separate cars with my wife, also a ham. As long as the left side transceiver wasn’t on the same band as the right side, I could operate full-duplex, like a telephone where both parties can hear each other even while we were talking. ![]() It covers the 10 Meter, 6 Meter, 2 Meter and 70 CM ham bands on one transceiver, and 2 M and 70CM on the other. It’s a true-dual radio with four ham bands, and general coverage receiver including the Air band. ![]() The Yaesu FT-8900R was one of my favorite mobile FM transceivers.
